DALLAS, TX, November 19, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — James M. “Jim” Eidson Jr., MBA, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Eidson has built a distinguished career in commercial real estate and investment, marked by his 25-year-long tenure with Precedent Equities LLC. As the president and sole member since 1999, Mr. Eidson focuses his practice on private equity investments. Previously, he worked at Crescent Real Estate Equities Ltd. in Fort Worth, Texas, as the senior vice president of acquisitions between 1994 and 1999, where he led the firm in acquiring approximately $4 billion of its $6 billion in total acquisitions during his tenure. In addition, he was a member of the firm’s executive committee, where he was responsible for establishing and overseeing strategic investment profiles. Impressively, Mr. Eidson earned the Dallas Metro Deal of the Year Award from the Dallas Business Journal in 1995.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Eidson joined Rainwater Inc. (legendary investor Richard Rainwater) in Fort Worth in 1994 as “Deal QB,” where he also established investment analysis protocols and procedures, in anticipation of Rainwater’s initiative to create Crescent Real Estate Equities, an NYSE publicly traded REIT. He also served as the owner of J.M. Eidson & Associates Inc. from 1982 to 1989 and again from 1992 to 1994, where he led the commercial property investment and consulting firm in Dallas. During this time, he was active in investment property sales, including income producing and master planned development sites, as well as providing fee management services. Likewise, he managed an office support staff of three, property management staff overseeing $10.5 million in assets, and seven commercial brokers.

Punctuating these appointments, Mr. Eidson was an investment specialist for CB Commercial Real Estate Group Inc. from 1989 to 1992. Eidson lead the Central U.S. in investment property sales for CB Commercial in 1991. He was selected to Colbert Coldwell Circle (top 2% of CB brokers nationwide in 1991). He was also ranked 18th nationally in commission revenue generated in 1991.

Commencing his corporate career in 1979, Mr. Eidson was an independent contractor and sales agent in the Office Buildings Division of Hank Dickerson & Company until 1982. There, he received the Ten Million Dollar Award in 1980 and the Top Sales Producer award in 1981. Notably, Mr. Eidson previously served as a team member of the Super Bowl XII World Champion Dallas Cowboys Football Club from 1976 to 1979, where he was drafted in the second round of the 1976 NFL college draft as the first Southeastern Conference offensive lineman selected in that year’s NFL draft. Playing offensive center, guard and tackle, Mr. Eidson was inducted into the Morgan County Sports Hall of Fame in 2009 and the Hartselle Tiger Football Fall of Fame in 2011.

Prior to initiating his career, Mr. Eidson earned a Bachelor of Science from Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi, in 1977. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University, which he completed in 1993 and graduated with Beta Gamma Sigma academic honors. Notably, he credits his academic success for his ability to identify and deploy innovative solutions, such as the historic transaction with CB Commercial Real Estate Group that resulted in the largest commission ever paid (up to that time) on a single transaction to the firm or its predecessor, Coldwell Banker.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Eidson remains actively involved in charitable initiatives. His persistent commitment to community service is evident through his work with Legacy Hall in East Texas and his established scholarships at Mississippi State University, where he and his wife initiated the Group of Seven, aiming to raise $10 million to establish two scholarships in honor of Coach Tom Goode, with a seed capital contribution of $100,000.

Outside of his career, Mr. Eidson leads a fulfilling personal life with his loving wife, three children and three grandchildren. He achieves a healthy work-life balance by playing golf, honoring God through his actions, and using his gifts to make a positive impact on others. Looking toward the future, Mr. Eidson will continue to share insights with others to forge meaningful relationships and contribute to his community.
