Ms. Owen began her career as a customer service representative at the American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T) from 1999 to 2002, where she developed foundational skills in client relations. She then transitioned to a cash control agent role at Six Flags Magic Mountain from 2003 to 2004, followed by a circulation and reference desk specialist position at Clarksville Montgomery County Library from 2004 to 2005. Her leadership abilities were further refined during her tenure as a cash cage shift supervisor at Soboba Casino from 2005 to 2009, where she experienced and lived through one of the most brazen casino robberies in United States history.
In 2009, Ms. Owen became Borders’s district corporate sales coordinator, where she worked until 2011. Her academic pursuits led her to Austin Peay State University, where she served as an academic tutor from 2012 to 2014 and later as a tutoring subject area supervisor and academic alert graduate assistant from 2013 to 2014. She brought her talents to Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee Inc., where she excelled as a human resources consultant, building cohesive teams and enhancing hiring practices through strategic planning and training initiatives. Her dedication to fostering talent and optimizing workplace systems laid the foundation for her current role at Hames Corporation, where she continues to drive meaningful change.
Ms. Owen’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Austin Peay State University in 2012 and a Master of Arts in industrial and organizational psychology from the same institution in 2014. Her professional credentials are further bolstered by her certification as a human resources professional from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HR.CI) in 2016.
Ms. Owen’s dedication extends beyond her professional life into civic engagement, where she has volunteered with organizations such as the International Honor Society in Psychology PSI CHI, Goodwill, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Society for Human Resource Management.
