Building upon a solid academic foundation, Ms. Lang obtained a bachelor’s degree in middle-level education in English and social studies from the College of Charleston in 2010 and a Master of Science in educational administration and supervision from Purdue University in 2014. Her certifications include elementary principal, secondary principal, middle school English-language arts, and middle school social studies, and reading to succeed and gifted and talented endorsements.
Ms. Lang is actively involved with several industry-related organizations that reflect her commitment to education and leadership. She is a member of the South Carolina Association of School Administrators. She also serves on the executive committee of the South Carolina High School League for Interscholastic Sports Legislative Sub-Committee. Ms. Lang’s affiliations with the Charter Institute at Erskine and the Public Charter School Alliance of South Carolina further demonstrate her dedication to advancing educational standards and practices. Active locally, she has volunteered for numerous town events, her local YMCA, and various schools and has generously donated to Healing Farms.
Throughout her career, Ms. Lang has been recognized for her contributions to education with features in professional publications such as EdWeek and PRTC Magazine and by being highlighted on Channel 2’s “Cool School of the Week.” Her inclusion in Charleston Regional Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 in 2023 also stands out as a testament to her influence and leadership within the educational community. Furthermore, Ms. Lang was named as the Rookie Teacher of the Year at Haut Gap Middle School by the Charleston County School District in 2012.
Ms. Lang attributes much of her success to the inspiration derived from personal challenges she faced early on and the mentorship she received, which played a crucial role in shaping her leadership style during her formative years as an educator. She is dedicated to seeing continued improvements at Lowcountry Leadership Charter School and has set her sights on mentoring young principals through education programs or consulting services.
