Mr. Silvia is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in the technology sector, currently serving as the vice president of global services and partner ecosystem at ActivTrak, a leading organization in workforce analytics. In this role, he oversees the global services organization, ensuring timely client deliveries that meet executive needs. He also leads the partner ecosystem, focusing on growth and stability while engaging in strategic conversations with potential partners. Additionally, Mr. Silvia leads the sales engineering organization, driving technology sales and solution initiatives across various industries.
Before being acquired by ActivTrak, Mr. Silvia was the chief customer officer at Workspan Inc. from 2022 to 2023, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing customer relations and satisfaction and drove business growth. Between 2019 and 2022, he served as the vice president and senior director of the global services organization at Enterprise Database (EDB). During his tenure at EDB, Mr. Silvia was instrumental in advancing the company’s fortunes, leading to significant growth and a billion-dollar exit. His efforts in developing teams, establishing regional operations, and creating a successful market strategy were key to this achievement.
From 2016 to 2019, Mr. Silvia was the director of the strategic partner organization for data and artificial intelligence at International Business Machines (IBM). He initially served as IBM’s global director of the virtual services organization between 2005 and 2016. His leadership in these roles contributed significantly to IBM’s expansion in software solutions following its acquisition of Ascential Software, a company whose founding members included Mr. Silvia’s father.
Mr. Silvia began his career as the director and manager of support subscription renewals at Ascential Software from 2001 to 2005. His early career was marked by his role as the head of client retention, where he helped grow the company from zero to $300 million in revenue before its sale to IBM for $1.8 billion.
Educated at Suffolk University in Boston, Mr. Silvia earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2001. His academic achievements have been complemented by several certifications from IBM in cloud strategy, hybrid cloud, the DataFirst Method, and the Watson Data Platform.
Influenced by his father, a well-known executive in the industry, Mr. Silvia attributes much of his success to lessons learned from him about the industry and how to interact and work well with others. He also believes in surrounding himself with individuals who are more intelligent than him in their respected fields and investing in others’ growth to enhance collective success. In the coming years, Mr. Silvia intends to provide fractal consulting services to young companies helping them avoid common pitfalls and grow effectively. Moreover, Mr. Silvia envisions joining boards to support companies during their growth phase.
