Currently serving as the head of environment, health and safety at Lyten Inc., an advanced materials company in the San Francisco Bay Area, she plays a pivotal role in advancing the Environment, Health and Safety program, ensuring regulatory compliance, collaborating with business and project leaders, and ensuring environmental protection while enabling the company to safely pursue its research and manufacturing goals.

Before joining Lyten, Ms. Racine held significant positions at Genentech in South San Francisco where she was the executive director of environment, health and safety (EHS) from 2018 to 2023. Most notably, she led Genentech’s COVID-19 response throughout the pandemic.

Managing a response team of made up of 10 sub-teams and over 150 members, Ms. Racine successfully maintained the safety of staff and essential workers through high vaccination rates among employees, creating a safe work environment, maintaining a well-informed work force, and ensuring the onsite infection rate was lower than that of the surrounding community. This leading role came after working as the associate director of physical safety between 2014 to 2018.

Ms. Racine worked at Boston Scientific in the San Francisco Bay Area from 2006 to 2014. She was the senior regional EHS manager and in 2013 took on the additional role of lean business process program lead in 2013. Before joining Boston Scientific, she held EHS positions at MMC/Maxtor, Seagate, and Clayton Environmental.

Ms. Racine holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She furthered her expertise through several credentials, including as a certified safety professional from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals in 2011, a certified hazardous materials manager from the Institute of Hazardous Materials Managers in 2012, a professional scrum master from Scrum.org in 2022, and corporate sustainability from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management in 2024.

Throughout her career, Ms. Racine has been actively involved in industry-related organizations, such as the American Society of Safety Professionals, the International Hazardous Materials Management Association and the International Association of Emergency Managers. While employed at Boston Scientific, she was also recognized for her work as an advocate and fundraiser for the American Heart Association’s Annual Heart Walk from 2006 to 2014, where she was recognized as the top fundraiser for two years.
