Powlison, an accomplished expert with over 30 years of experience in land development, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. Since 2021, Mr. Powlison has served as land development director at Taylor Morrison, where he oversees teams responsible for obtaining permits, hiring engineers and contractors, and gaining city approval to build new housing communities. Mr. Powlison’s distinguished career includes leadership roles as a mixed-use land development project manager, and responsible managing individual at Newland Communities from 2017 to 2021. He also served as a NW Oregon Resource Advisory Council council member during the same period. From 2014 to 2017, he was the right-of-way program manager for the City of Oregon City. Earlier in his career, he worked as a project manager at Canby Excavating from 2009 to 2014 and as senior development and entitlement manager at Kimball Hill Homes from 2004 to 2009. His expertise in land development began with his role as vice president of entitlements and land development at Regal Developments from 1996 to 2004.
Mr. Powlison’s career is also marked by his military service as a combat engineer in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1989 to 1996. He proudly participated in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm in Kuwait in 1991. His military experiences were highlighted in the documentary “American Warriors: Lance Powlison: Desert Storm Combat Engineer,” released in 2022. Mr. Powlison holds a certification from the Project Management Institute, earning the title of Project Management Professional in 2019. He also completed coursework in project management at Portland State University and Chemeketa Community College. His other certifications include being a certified project manager from Portland State University in 2003. He attributes his success to continuous reading and mentorship, drawing inspiration from true stories of perseverance.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Powlison is also a dedicated civic leader. He is actively involved in organizations such as The Nature Conservancy and Habitat for Humanity, where he has contributed to building fences for veterans in his community and being a lifetime member to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Oregon Hunters Association. He also served on various committees, including the Access and Habitat Regional Board for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife from 2015 to 2020 and the Telecommunications, Cable and Broadband Policy Committee for the League of Oregon Cities from 2015 to 2017.

Born in Portland, Mr. Powlison enjoys spending time outdoors hunting, hiking, camping, and playing poker. He has been happily married for 33 years with two daughters and five grandchildren. Looking ahead, he aims to continue leading his family and team toward their goals while aspiring to become a vice president of land development.
