Marquis Who’s Who Honors Maggie Davis, RDN, for Expertise in Health and Nutrition

Maggie Davis, RDN, is a distinguished expert in weight management and nutrition therapy with 50 years of experience

HARWICH, MA, February 02, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ — Maggie Davis, MS, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Davis, a distinguished consultant, has dedicated over five decades to nutrition and dietetics. She has been the owner of Live Nutrition since 1980, demonstrating her long-standing commitment to advancing nutritional health and wellness. Her Live Nutrition consultations also included overseeing food service and clinical nutrition for residents of numerous Extended Care Facilities and Health Care Communities including The Terraces in Orleans MA. Prior to relocating to MA, Maggie worked for the Cuyahoga County Hospital, Cleveland, OH, as a Clinical Dietitian and as a Research Dietitian where she worked on the team that developed the first Computerized Nutrition Analysis software in 1977.

In her extensive career, Ms. Davis’s expertise spans multiple areas of Nutrition Practice, including weight management, bariatric counseling, diabetes education, eating disorders and emotional eating as well as nutrition education for cardiometabolic conditions. During summers she welcomed Dietetic Interns into her practice to train them in the behavioral aspects of nutrition counseling.

Ms. Davis’s academic background included a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition from Framingham State University in 1973 and a Master’s degree in Nutrition from Case Western University in 1975 and a coordinated VA Hospital Dietetic Internship. In 1975 she also completed postgraduate work in neonatal nutrition at Iowa State University. Ms. Davis’s certifications include being a Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in Massachusetts, and a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist through the Commission on Dietetic Registration. She has also been certified by the Commission as an expert in Pediatric Weight Management as well as Adult Weight Management. She has also been credentialed by the Academy of Nutrition to be honored with the distinguished Fellow designation.

Active in her professional community, Ms. Davis has served as the Program Chairperson and President of the Cleveland Dietetic Association, VP of the Massachusetts Dietetic Association, President of the Massachusetts Consultant Dietitians in Health Care Communities, and President of Cape and Islands Dietetic Association. Maggie also served as the VP of the Nutritional Division of Red Rock Labs where she developed nutritional food bars and a unique children’s frozen multivitamin product.

Maggie is also an accomplished writer. She co-authored “Your Whole Life” The 3D Plan for Eating Right, Living Well and Loving God” via Paraclete Press in 2007 and authored “Good Food for Life: Planning, Preparing and Sharing” via Paraclete Press in 2010.

Early in her career, Ms. Davis was recognized for her contributions to her profession by being named “Young Dietitian of the Year” in 1977 by The American Dietetic Association. Her passion for teaching and nutrition as well as her natural academic curiosity have been instrumental in her success. Initially captivated by chemistry, Ms. Davis found her true calling in nutrition due to its practical applications for everyday life.

Ms. Davis is working on a new book, “Diet for a Broken Heart,” and plans to follow-up with a book on Nutrition for Caregivers. She plans to write corresponding magazine articles to reach a broader audience. Additionally, she is consulting on Food as Medicine menus and helping to plan food box content for delivery to those who are food and nutrient insecure.
