Dr. Reed is a distinguished professional in the field of mental health counseling, currently serving as an assistant professor and program director at The Christ College of Nursing and Health Sciences. In his multi-faceted role, he teaches engaging classes that integrate business principles with a focus on healthcare, and he oversees the curriculum to ensure alignment with standards set by the Higher Learning Commission and the Ohio Board of Education. Dr. Reed has also thrived as a co-owner and clinical director of Potter House Recovery LLC since 2023.

Before accepting his current appointment, Dr. Reed excelled as the director of integrated care at Primary Health Solutions from 2019 to 2021. In this capacity, he played a crucial role in developing integrated care models that improved patient outcomes. In 2019, he also served as a behavioral health provider at the same organization, where he focused on delivering comprehensive mental health services to a diverse patient base. Additionally, from 2018 to 2019, Dr. Reed thrived in the role of clinical director at Modern Psychiatry and Wellness, where he led clinical operations and ensured high-quality patient care.

Dr. Reed’s career also includes a successful tenure as the clinical director at Sojourner Recovery Services from 2016 to 2018, where he managed therapeutic programs for individuals recovering from substance abuse. Before that, Dr. Reed earned valuable experience as a family-centered therapist at The MENTOR Network from 2015 to 2016, helping families navigate complex health challenges by deploying his deep expertise across psychology, behavioral, family therapy and social services platforms.

Dr. Reed’s academic accomplishments are impressive. He earned a Bachelor of Business Management in business administration and management from the University of Phoenix in 2010 before pursuing graduate studies. He now proudly holds a master’s degree in mental health counseling from the University of Phoenix, completed in 2013, and Dr. Reed finished a Doctor of Behavioral Health in 2020, granted by the prestigious Arizona State University.

Distinct industry credentials further define Dr. Reed’s presence in the field and in academia. He was designated a licensed professional clinical counselor supervisor by the State of Ohio in 2016 and holds the LPCC-S designation from the Ohio Department of Health, also earned in 2016. Notably, Dr. Reed has sustained membership in the National Board for Certified Counselors and has served on The State of Ohio Youth Board for four years.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Dr. Reed has consistently sought opportunities for civic service and maintained involvement in organizations such as Pathways of Arizona Inc., where he served as a counselor from 2011 to 2014. He also participated in spiritual missions work from 1997 to 2003. As a public speaker at the Case Management Society of America Conference, Dr. Reed has openly shared his insights on case management practices.

Dr. Reed recognizes that the foundation for his advancement was forged early on through an internship program after high school that paired him with a senior pastor mentor. This experience led him into pastoral roles beginning in 1989 and provided essential skills that greatly enhanced his current counseling practices. Dr. Reed also acknowledges how his journey has been shaped by divine guidance and the unwavering support from his family and mentors.

Outside of his career, Dr. Reed enjoys traveling and practicing martial arts, and he cherishes spending quality time with his wife and two children. Looking toward the future, he aims to enhance the substance abuse treatment center with which he is involved by broadening its range of offerings to better serve community needs. Additionally, he envisions transitioning into full-time teaching at the Christ College of Nursing.
