Ms. Liguori currently works as a partner at Ellis & Winters LLP, where she began as an associate attorney in 2018 and has made significant strides in her career. Her involvement with the firm extends beyond just handling cases; she also supervises other attorneys, manages the firm’s Best in Class class action blog, has served on the professional development committee, and plays a pivotal role as the hiring partner.

Prior to Ms. Liguori’s current position, she enriched future legal minds as an adjunct professor at Duke University Law School. Her commitment to public service was evident during her tenure as solicitor general fellow at the North Carolina Department of Justice from 2017 to 2018. Ms. Liguori also brought her expertise to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit as a staff attorney and law clerk. Her early career included roles as a consultant for the Public International Law & Policy Group, as a summer associate at Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP, and as a probate clerk at Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo PC.

In addition to her professional roles, Ms. Liguori has stayed active in organizations related to her industry. She previously served as continuing legal education chair for the North Carolina Bar Association’s Appellate Practice Section and participated in the American Bar Association’s Class Actions and Derivative Suits Committee. Ms. Liguori also contributes her insights on the board of directors for the Harvard Club of the Research Triangle and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, one of the oldest and most prestigious honor societies in the United States.

Ms. Liguori’s legal prowess is built on a strong academic foundation. She studied in Rome through the IES Abroad program before completing a Bachelor of Arts in religious studies at Amherst College in 2006. Ms. Liguori then earned a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 2012. She has been admitted to the bar in both North Carolina and New York, and was certified as a specialist in appellate practice by the North Carolina State Bar.

Esteemed legal entities have recognized Ms. Liguori’s dedication to her profession. She was chosen for Business North Carolina Legal Elite’s list of best lawyers, while Thomson Reuters’ Super Lawyers selected her for inclusion as a top attorney in the fields of appellate practice and commercial litigation. These accolades serve as testaments to her skill and her standing among her peers in the legal community.

Ms. Liguori attributes much of her success to the unwavering support of her family and the guidance she received from exceptional mentors throughout her career. Her diverse experiences post-law school—including a year as a Fulbright fellow in Egypt and various positions within the judicial system—have shaped her into a knowledgeable and respected attorney.

Outside of her demanding career, Ms. Liguori finds joy in traveling and spending quality time with her family and beloved dogs. She is intent on expanding her practice in the future. Ms. Liguori has spent two years serving as a member of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit’s Criminal Justice Act panel and recently was asked to serve on the Court’s Criminal Justice Act panel committee by special request of the chief judge. She is looking forward to continuing to serve in that role as she further develops her legal skills and expands her appellate and class action practices.
