Ms. Wertman is an award-winning photographer and the owner of Wertman Photography in Hagerstown, Maryland, since 2009. Known for her ability to bring out her clients’ personalities in her work, she specializes in portraiture, commercial, glamor and special occasion photography. She also enjoys shooting weddings, engagements and senior photos. Ms. Wertman’s daily responsibilities include conducting photo sessions, editing images, preparing orders, and managing the business’s finances. She also collaborates closely with her marketing director to plan upcoming campaigns.
Having led a diverse yet rewarding career, Ms. Wertman began her professional journey as the Mother’s Day Out Program director from 1996 to 1999. She then served as the office manager at All Caring Animal Clinic between 1999 and 2001. Following this role, Ms. Wertman excelled as a recruiting supervisor at Arnold Transportation from 2003 to 2005. Concurrently, she worked as a substitute teacher for the Washington County School System between 2005 and 2012, during which time she founded Wertman Photography.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Wertman received an Associate of Arts in Arts from Hagerstown Community College, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in fine and studio arts from Frostburg State University and a Master of Fine Arts in photography from the Academy of Art University.
Ms. Wertman credits her success to her positive attitude, fostering personal connections, community involvement, and collaboration with other organizations and businesses.
Ms. Wertman is actively involved in several organizations, including various local photography groups, to remain abreast of industry trends. She is also active locally with the chamber of commerce and the Historic Preservation Commission. Ms. Wertman’s commitment to community service has also been evident through her participation in Dancing with the Art Stars, as a founding member of Christkindlmarket Christmas Market and by contributing to hospice charitable events, art and symphony initiatives and homeless shelters.
Ms. Wertman aims to expand her photography business by hiring a reliable full-time office manager and enhancing the video aspect of her services. Her most notable achievement in the industry thus far is creating lasting memories for her clients to cherish. Ms. Wertman’s dedication to her business and community has earned her recognition as a noteworthy professional.
