NEPTUNE, NJ, October 28, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — Nicholas L. Westbrooks has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Westbrooks is an accomplished educator, astro-numerologist, and business manager with a diverse career spanning over a decade. He has been associated with charter schools and the Newark Board of Education in Newark, New Jersey, for 10 years as a teacher and financial service company DJ The Money Coach LLC for 4 years as a business manager. He is currently transitioning into a professional astro-numerologist after practicing for 7 years and completing his professional certification.

Since 2017, Mr. Westbrooks has excelled as an English teacher and advisor at Newark Public Schools. During the past school year, he achieved a significant milestone by teaching Advanced Placement (AP) classes for the first time, AP Seminar and AP Literature and Composition, respectively. He successfully guided numerous students through a combination of exams and projects to pass the AP Seminar exam, and he currently teaches AP Literature and Composition. Mr. Westbrooks has demonstrated exceptional dedication and expertise, earning recognition as a founding member of his current school, the Newark School of Data Science and Information Technology, which opened in 2021.

In 2020, after working with DJ The Money Coach as a client, Mr. Westbrooks expanded his professional repertoire by becoming business manager. In August 2024, he completed a professional certification course and launched his astro-numerology consulting business, Supreme Numerics.

Before joining the public school district, Mr. Westbrooks served as a tutor, teaching assistant, and teacher resident at Great Oaks Charter School during the 2013-2014 school year, as well as an academic coach and English teacher at Newark Prep Charter School from 2014 until the school’s closing in 2017.

Mr. Westbrooks’s journey into education was influenced by his initial pursuit of journalism, with hands-on experience in campus news and internships at local New Jersey-based radio network, Millennium Radio Group LLC, The Washington Informer, a Washington, D.C.-based, Black-owned and operated newspaper, and ABC News’ Washington bureau. However, he found his true calling in education after taking a course in college entitled “Education in Black America” and attending an information session for Teach for America. Although Mr. Westbrooks did not join Teach for America, he was accepted into an education fellowship program in Newark, New Jersey. This led him to commit to teaching in Newark for several subsequent years.

Mr. Westbrooks’s educational background includes earning a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism from Howard University in 2013 and a Master of Arts in clinically-based English education from New York University in 2015. In addition to completing journalism internships at news companies, he has also interned with the Greater Washington Urban League and volunteered with the Washington Association of Black Journalists’ Urban Journalism Workshop. He also holds several certifications, including the AP Seminar and AP Literature and Composition teacher certifications from The College Board, an advanced certification in English education, and a professional astro-numerology certification from world-renown astro-numerologist, Lloyd Strayhorn.

In addition to his role as a teacher and advisor, Mr. Westbrooks actively supports his school community beyond school hours by engaging in special events for students and families, such as Black History Month, Women’s History Month, National Poetry Month, Pride Month, and Parent-Teacher Organization programs, and attending his students’ athletics competitions.

Looking ahead, Mr. Westbrooks aims to publish a book that combines student writings from the past decade with his memoirs as an educator. He also aspires to achieve national board certification as a teacher, grow his astro-numerology business, and increase his financial portfolio. While he remains committed to continuing his teaching career, he is open to exploring opportunities beyond the Newark school system.
