Marquis Who’s Who Honors Nichole Austion for Expertise in Education in the Nonprofit Sector

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA, February 02, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ — Nichole Austion has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. Ms. Austion has carved a distinguished career in STEM education, serving as the vice president of public affairs at the National Math and Science Initiative in Atlanta since 2022. In this role, she has expanded her responsibilities to oversee the government affairs team and implement federal and state government relations and education agency strategies. This position builds upon Ms. Austion’s previous roles as the senior director of marketing communications from 2021 to 2022 and the director of marketing communications between 2020 and 2021. Recognized as a national nonprofit organization, the Initiative is dedicated to transforming math and science education.

Before joining the National Math and Science Initiative, Ms. Austion held several other significant positions, including at Lighthouse Academies as the director of marketing and communications from 2018 to 2020, at SecureWorks as a senior marketing manager for the SMB segment between 2015 and 2018, and at Acuity Brands as a senior marketing manager for the commercial office vertical from 2014 to 2015. Her career also includes a substantial tenure at Teradata Corporation in Atlanta, where she progressed from a senior industry marketing manager in 2002 to the director of industry marketing until 2014. Ms. Austion’s journey through these roles underscores her expertise in STEM education and her commitment to enhancing educational opportunities.

Ms. Austion’s success is deeply rooted in her educational pursuits. She earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science engineering from Howard University and a Master of Business Administration from Texas McCombs School of Business. She also obtained several certifications in nonprofit organization management and inbound marketing. Ms. Austion remains active as a professional member of the National Society of Black MBAs and the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.

Outside of her professional life, Ms. Austion is deeply committed to community involvement. Her extracurricular activities have included serving as a board member for Georgia Agape Inc. and College Ready Now. She was also an election issuing clerk for Gwinnett County, was involved in annual fundraising as the second-grade co-chair for the Greater Atlanta Christian School, and was a member of the parent-teacher organization and board secretary for the Greater Atlanta Christian School.

In light of her accomplishments, Ms. Austion was named as the 2024 Innovator of the Year by the Women’s Empowerment Ministry. She attributes her success to a strong foundation in education, supported by a goal-oriented family that has emphasized the importance of education. Looking ahead, Ms. Austion aims to achieve C-suite status while continuing her writing endeavors with aspirations to publish more books and develop a platform for speaking.
