Currently serving as the senior manager of business resilience management at Delta Dental of California since 2019, she is responsible for managing the company’s crisis management team. Her role involves addressing crises, conducting training, organizing disaster preparedness exercises and planning for emergency responses and business continuity. Her expertise was particularly evident when she joined Delta Dental just before the COVID-19 pandemic, where she quickly formed a team to manage the crisis effectively. This effort led to team recognition as finalists for an international award from the Disaster Recovery Institute International.

Before her tenure at Delta Dental, Ms. Anderson was a principal consultant at BSI Consulting Group from 2018 to 2019. In this role, she provided expert guidance on business continuity and emergency response strategies. Her extensive experience in crisis management was further honed during her time as the global emergency response team and business continuity program director at Applied Materials from 2005 to 2018. Notably, she led the company’s response during the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster in Japan, successfully coordinating efforts across 19 locations without missing any deadlines or deliverables.

Ms. Anderson’s career began in public service as an emergency preparedness coordinator for the City of Sunnyvale from 1981 to 1997. She then transitioned to the private sector as a business continuity manager at Solectron from 1997 to 2005. Throughout her career, she has been actively involved in industry-related organizations such as the California Resiliency Alliance and the Business Recovery Managers Association. Her contributions to the field have been recognized with several awards, including the Northern California Disaster Preparedness Network’s Preparedness Pioneer Award and the Contingency Planning and Management Magazine’s Crystal Practitioners Award.

Academically, Ms. Anderson holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Saint Mary’s College of California, which she earned in 1995. Her education laid a strong foundation for her career in business resilience and crisis management. She has also been certified as a Master Business Continuity Professional by DRI since 2000 and as a Certified Emergency Manager since 1997. These certifications have been instrumental in her ability to lead effectively during crises.

Ms. Anderson attributes her success to her passion for her work, her level-headedness in handling crises, and her dedication to keeping people safe. Her leadership skills have been pivotal in her career achievements and continue to drive her commitment to making a positive impact through her work.

Outside of her professional life, Ms. Anderson cherishes spending time with her family.
