Mr. McAngus is a distinguished partner at Verner Brumley Mueller Parker PC, where he has been an integral part of the firm since 2012. Holding the title of partner since 2017, he contributes significantly to the firm’s success through his expertise in family law and divorce. As a partner, he is involved in mediations, depositions, meetings, and general litigation practice, showcasing his comprehensive legal skills.

Mr. McAngus began his career as a teacher at Gholson Independent School District from 2000 to 2001 before moving to Garland Independent School District, where he served as a teacher from 2002 to 2005 and later as an Oracle analyst from 2005 to 2013. His transition into law began with a role as a law clerk at Ramirez and Associates from 2011 to 2012. He then established McAngus Law PLLC in 2013 and worked briefly as a contract attorney at Buether Joe and Carpenter LLC the same year. Subsequently, he joined Ward and Turton PLLC as an associate from 2013 to 2014 before moving to The Williamson Law Firm PLLC, where he served as an attorney from 2014 to 2017.

Mr. McAngus’ academic background is impressive. He earned a Bachelor of Science in education from Baylor University in 1999 and a Master of Science in educational instructional technology from the same institution in 2001. He obtained his Juris Doctor cum laude from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 2012. His strong educational foundation has been pivotal in his legal career.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. McAngus holds several certifications. He was admitted to practice in the Eastern District of Texas and the Northern District of Texas in 2013 and became a licensed attorney with the State Bar of Texas in 2012. He attributes his success to a strong work ethic and dedication to continuous learning.

Mr. McAngus is also deeply involved in various professional organizations. He is a fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers and a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Additionally, he has been associated with BNI Rockwall Classic Connections since 2013 and has been an active member of the Collin County Bar Association, the Rockwall Bar Association and the American Bar Association since 2012 and the Dallas Bar Association since 2011.

His civic involvement includes serving as the state chair of the legislative committee for the Texas Family Law Foundation and chair of his city council. He has also dedicated time to the planning and zoning committee for the Architectural Review Board and the National Small Business Association Leadership Council. In addition to volunteering at his church, he has been the director of marketing for the Associate Producers of Dallas Summer Musicals since 2015.

Mr. McAngus has received numerous accolades throughout his career, including being named a Rising Star by Texas Super Lawyers Magazine in 2016 and 2017 and recognition among the Nation’s Top One Percent by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel in 2015.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. McAngus is a devoted husband and father who enjoys spending time with his family.
