As the owner of Oil & Gas Investment Evaluations for 30 years, he has carved out a niche as a consultant who helps clients avoid costly business mistakes. His work extends to assisting estates and widows, buying and selling minerals, and evaluating contributions to charitable organizations. Mr. Taylor’s comprehensive knowledge spans geological, geophysical and geochemical data collection, and he has been instrumental in aiding companies to reduce their physical archives while securing tax benefits. Mr. Taylor’s journey into geology was influenced by his father’s profession as a geologist. This familial connection led him to work alongside him during college before embarking on a career that included cutting-edge drilling technologies at Amarex in Oklahoma City and various roles with independent companies that would later define his career as an independent consultant. Mr. Taylor has since demonstrated exceptional expertise in consulting within various geological basins, including the Anadarko Basin, Texas Panhandle, western, central and northen Oklahoma, north Texas, the Gulf of Alaska and the Arkoma Basin, as well as international locations such as Australia.

Mr. Taylor’s educational background includes a Master of Science in geology from West Texas A&M University, which he earned in 1976. He also holds credentials as a certified petroleum geologist from the American Association of Petroleum Geologists since 1991 and a professional geoscientist from the State of Texas since 2003. Mr. Taylor’s dedication to the field is further evidenced by his long-standing memberships with industry-related organizations such as the American Association of Petroleum Geologists in the division of professional affairs, and holding positions such as secretary and treasurer with the Panhandle Geological Society. Additionally, he is affiliated with the Oklahoma City Geological Society and the Tulsa Geological Society.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Taylor harbors a passion for various civic activities. He imparts his knowledge through teaching and guiding tours at Palo Duro Canyon and advocates for pragmatic approaches to climate change adaptation. Mr. Taylor has also actively supported the oldest community theater in Texas (Amarillo Little Theater), public radio for the Texas panhandle, and the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum.

In the coming years, Mr. Taylor aims to assist in preserving valuable geological data for future generations, which he believes is critical.
