His role involves assisting local manufacturing facilities across the U.S., Europe, India and China with all aspects of metals and metallic components used in compressor manufacturing. He also addresses customer quality issues, troubleshoots failures in the production process and collaborates on developing innovative compressor parts. Before being hired by Copeland, Dr. Pathak was a surgical staple-making manager and a metal technology staff engineer at Johnson & Johnson MedTech from 2022 to 2023. During this time, he secured several patents related to surgical stapling instruments and bioabsorbable staples. Between 2015 and 2022, he was a project manager at Cleveland-Cliffs, where he was responsible for overseeing many steel alloy development and process improvement projects. Earlier in his career, Dr. Pathak was a product development metallurgist at Steel Dynamics Inc. from 2013 to 2015 and a team leader and postdoctoral scientist specializing in corrosion and coatings at the University of Southern Mississippi between 2008 and 2013.
Dr. Pathak has held a Master of Technology in corrosion science and technology from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur since 2005 and a Doctor of Philosophy in metallurgical and corrosion engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay since 2008. His postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Southern Mississippi further solidified his expertise. Currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Boston University, Dr. Pathak continues to expand his knowledge base.
In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Pathak holds several designations, including a project management professional from the Project Management Institute and a Six Sigma black belt from the American Society for Quality MENA. These credentials have been instrumental in his ability to lead complex projects and drive innovation within his field.
Dr. Pathak’s commitment to continuous learning is evident through his membership in industry-related organizations, such as the American Society for Quality, the Association for Iron and Steel Technology, and the Project Management Institute. Beyond his professional endeavors, he is civically engaged with organizations like United Way and plans to become more involved with Ronald McDonald House Charities for providing him with assistance when he needed it for his son, who had been experiencing health challenges. Dr. Pathak also actively contributes to academic literature with publications on corrosion protection and coatings. He focuses on magnesium-rich primers and eco-friendly silane primers for coil coating applications.
