Before joining Safran, Dr. Gogna worked as a manufacturing engineer at Trinity Packaging Corp, where he focused on enhancing product efficiency and effectiveness from 2013 to 2014.
Dr. Gogna initiated his career with a process engineering internship at Trinity Packaging Corp from 2010 to 2013 while concurrently serving as a research assistant at the University at Buffalo. These roles provided him with invaluable experience in root cause analysis and mentoring team members. Earlier in his career, Dr. Gogna excelled as a Six Sigma black belt trainee at Hebeler LLC in 2008, and he completed internships with MECON Limited in India in 2006 and Siemens in 2005, solidifying his international reputation and global presence.
Throughout his career, Dr. Gogna has achieved notable milestones, including the filing of four patents related to an extended-duration system for Boeing during his collaboration with an aerospace company. Two of these patents have been secured. Dr. Gogna’s pursuit of productive networking is enriched by memberships in esteemed organizations such as Theta Gamma Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi, SAE International, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the India Association of Buffalo.
Dr. Gogna’s academic training has played a pivotal role in his success thus far. He completed a Bachelor of Technology in mechanical and automation engineering from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in 2007 before earning a Master of Science in mechanical engineering at the University of Buffalo in 2009. He subsequently pursued a terminal degree in his field and now holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering, also from the University at Buffalo, which he proudly finished in 2013. More recently, Dr. Gogna finished a Master of Business Administration from the prestigious Penn State Smeal MBA Program in 2023, where he received a Gold Honors Certificate and was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society.
Dr. Gogna has been recognized with awards such as the Mark Diamond Research Fund from the University at Buffalo, marking his meaningful contributions across varied platforms. He attributes his signature accomplishments to his perseverance, an unwavering dedication to excellence and family support. Additionally, Dr. Gogna remains duly committed to giving back and is engaged in civic service with the Sikh Cultural and Educational Society of Western New York.
To achieve balance, Dr. Gogna enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife, a clinical assistant professor at the University of Buffalo, and their daughter. He finds joy in outdoor activities like hiking, bike riding, pickleball, cricket and soccer. Looking toward the future, Dr. Gogna is preparing for a management role at Evonik and aspires to eventually become the company’s vice president.
