Dr. Kad, a distinguished physician and academician, has dedicated 50 years to the medical profession, specializing in internal medicine, nephrology and geriatrics. Currently associated with the Malcom Randall Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida, he has been serving as an Internist since 2020. His expertise in geriatrics allows him to provide exceptional care for older individuals.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Kad spent 25 years practicing medicine in New York and 18 years in Kentucky. His extensive experience in these states enabled him to address the health care needs of numerous patients, particularly in rural areas where medical resources were scarce. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with many outstanding physicians in academia and research, further enhancing his knowledge and skills.

Dr. Kad’s military service is another notable aspect of his career. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 12 years, an experience that he holds in high regard. Held leadership/ Unit Commanding positions. His most significant accomplishment during this time was graduating from Command and General Staff College, receiving Commendation Medal and retiring as a Lt. Colonel.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Kad has a passion for teaching. He has held various positions where he enjoyed educating medical, business and nursing students. His dedication to education is evident through his numerous lectures at national and international levels over the years.

Dr. Kad’s academic achievements are impressive and have significantly contributed to his professional success. He earned his Doctor of Medicine in India before pursuing further education in the United States. He holds a Master’s degree in Medical Administration from New School University, New York and Public Health Leadership Certification from University of Kentucky, a law degree in Professional Liability Studies in Healthcare from Greenwich University in Hawaii, a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of South Florida, and an MBA from Syracuse University. He obtained his medical license in 1974 and has been licensed in several states since then. He’s kind and compassionate, hardworking and humble. Has served a member of Board of Directors of several Social and Community Organizations.

Dr. Kad’s commitment to continuous learning and hard work is reflected in his membership with several prestigious organizations, including the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Nephrology and the Rotary Club (Paul Harris Fellow). He is a Fellow of American College of Physicians, The American College of Practice Management, American Academy of Internal Medicine and American College of Geriatrics Specialists. He is a member of American Heart Association, American College of Physician Executives, American Federation of Clinical Research, and Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society. These affiliations have provided him with valuable opportunities for professional development and networking. and has received numerous awards for his dedication to medicine, including the Outstanding Physician Award and various physician recognition awards. He was also awarded plaque of Kentucky Colonel by the Governor of Kentucky in 2004.

Dr. Kad’s contributions extend beyond his professional life into civic engagement. He serves as a Lector and Eucharistic minister at his local Catholic church. He is also a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus.

Outside of his career, Dr. Kad enjoys baseball, football, basketball and traveling and cruises. He loves, concerts, opera, bowling, jogging, square dancing, book clubs and Euchre. As he nears the end of his professional journey, he plans to dedicate more time taking care of the veterans, as about 18 to 20% people living in The Villages are veterans. He considers it an honor to serve those who have given so much to the country.
