As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Ruth currently serves as a senior product development engineer at KCH Engineered Systems/ECS, a role he has held since 2023. In this broad capacity, he is responsible for initiating the creation of new products such as electroplating process lines, metal finishing equipment and pollution control systems; and he expertly creates engineering drawings and 3D files necessary for product manufacturing. Additionally, Mr. Ruth plays a pivotal role in company operations as the team marketing coordinator, and he proudly initiated the launch of a new website, through which he capably manages the firm’s social media presence.

Before accepting his current position, Mr. Ruth excelled as a lead design engineer at WestRock Company from 2020 to 2023, refining his skills in engineering and design by leading projects that required innovative solutions. His industry profile is further defined by his dedicated work as a freelance designer and draftsman with Truthdesign, a company he launched in 2002 and managed until 2019, and Mr. Ruth contributed his creative talents to Flexovit Abrasives USA Inc. from 2003 to 2007 as a valuable member of the marketing unit.

Mr. Ruth held other roles that further developed his varied skill set, including his successful tenure as an aerospace design engineer and drafter with ITT from 2007 to 2009. He also thrived as the lead senior industrial designer at The Vollrath Company from 2009 to 2020, and it was during this period that he achieved what he considers his most significant accomplishment: working with professional sports teams in North America, and culminating with the New York Jets and New York Giants on retail, food and beverage designs that were featured in their new $1.5 billion stadium, an achievement that showcased his work to an audience of 40 million Americans on live TV.

With diverse interests that extend to spirits and culture, Mr. Ruth has prospered in a broad array of vocations. He worked part-time as a sommelier at Three Brothers Winery and Estates LLC in 2016 and gained valuable experience as a bar back at Troy Hill Brewing from 1999 to 2001. Mr. Ruth’s unique experiences also include serving on the ground team and airship recovery crew for Great Lakes Hot Air Ballooning from 1998 to 1999; and as a stockroom associate at Jubilee Market from 1996 to 1997.

Mr. Ruth’s academic background is foundational to his success. He earned a Bachelor of Science in industrial and automotive design from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 2001 after completing the Regents Diploma in design at Lake Shore Senior High School in Angola, New York, in 1997. Mr. Ruth credits his accomplishments thus far to his open-mindedness, flexibility and a willingness to explore new opportunities across various locations.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Ruth remains committed to giving back to the community through volunteer work. He served as a flight line volunteer for the Geneseo Airshow with the 1941 Historical Aircraft Group in Geneseo, New York, from 2009 to 2017, and has been involved with local dog rescues in North and South Carolina. Mr. Ruth’s dedication has been duly recognized, and he humbly accepted the Most Valuable Player Award in Sales from The Vollrath Company. He recently completed training from the National Association of Surface Finishers (NASF).

Mr. Ruth achieves balance through passions such as oil painting, wine tasting and restoring classic cars, and he is particularly enthusiastic about his current project, a 1968 Mustang. He also enjoys target shooting, staying fit through regular workouts and spending time with his dogs. Looking toward the future, Mr. Ruth aims to advance his career by managing his own design department and pursuing graduate studies to complete a master’s program.
