Mr. Wasserman is a distinguished attorney with an impressive career spanning over five decades. Mr. Wasserman began his career in Hollywood in 1972 with Litman and Muchnick where he became senior managing partner of Litman Muchnick and Wasserman and other iterations; and in 2020 he brought his firm and practice to Boca Raton where he helped form Shapiro, Blasi, Wasserman & Hermann, PA, where he now serves in an Of Counsel capacity. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role, focusing his practice on collaborative family law. Among a range of services, Mr. Wasserman provides counsel regarding marital agreements, divorce, custody, paternity, international family law, and other vital areas of family law. He promotes the use of the Collaborative Law Process where he relies on the guidance of a collaborative team of a mental health professional, and a financial professional who collectively serve as neutrals in assisting in the resolution of family disputes while remaining out of court. Mr. Wasserman’s expertise in family law and collaborative law is highly regarded, and his dedication is evident through his achievements and the high level of service he provides to his clients. He credits his success to great mentoring, hard work and his ability to empathize with clients, a trait that has served him well throughout his career. Inspired by his uncle’s encouragement to pursue law, Mr. Wasserman has become an advocate for collaborative law since receiving training in this area in 2014. Looking ahead, he aims to continue authoring blogs on collaborative law, sharing his insights, and promoting alternative dispute resolution methods that benefit families during challenging times.

Mr. Wasserman has authored numerous legal articles in legal journals and other publications regarding various matters. Among them, he released ‘Check Your Ego at the Door’ in 2019 in the Daily Business Review and ·Children and The Collaborative Law Process’ in 2019 in The Advocate. He has also lectured before the family law section of the Florida Bar, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers and most recently for the Florida Academy of Collaborative Professionals (FACP) and the International Academy of Collaborative professionals (IACP).

As a dedicated civil leader, Mr. Wasserman is regarded as a Vietnam veteran who was honorably discharged in 1970. He later served as a pro bono volunteer for the Veteran’s Project in Broward County and is the former vice president of the David Posnack Jewish Community Center in Davie, Florida.

The foundation for Mr. Wasserman’s successful career was laid at the University of Miami, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in 1967 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1972. He is admitted to the practice of law in the State of Florida. He has also been admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth and 11th Circuits, the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Moreover, Mr. Wasserman is an accredited collaborative professional by the Florida Association of Collaborative Professionals.

Mr. Wasserman’s commitment to the legal profession extends beyond his practice. Notably, he served as the President of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar, Chair of the Florida Bar Family Law Rules Committee, chaired the Council of Sections of the Florida Bar, and was appointed chair of the Supreme Court Family Law Forms Advisory Workgroup, on which he continues to serve. He is a former President of the Broward County Bar Association and the South Broward Bar Association. In addition, he chaired the Bi-Centennial Committee for the Florida Bar in 1976. Moreover, Mr. Wasserman maintains membership with several other collaborative professional associations, including the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and several practice groups. Mr. Wasserman is also a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers.

In light of his success, Mr. Wasserman has been recognized on the Florida Super Lawyers Top Lawyers list and the South Florida Legal Guide’s Top Lawyer list for family law. Additionally, he is an AV Preeminent Attorney through Martindale-Hubbell. Most recently, he was awarded the President’s Award for Exemplary Service at the Florida Academy of Collaborative Professionals 2024 annual conference.
