Since 2024, Dr. Nyaoke has served as a product manager at School of Wealth LLC, a financial services organization based in Clemmons, North Carolina. Prior to his current role, he served as the head of digital transaction banking at KCB Bank Group, East Africa’s largest commercial bank. His pioneering work included developing innovative digital solutions that attracted significant government deposits and partnerships, substantially increasing the bank’s liquidity. His strategic initiatives led to tripling monthly transactions and generating tens of millions in deposit growth.

Affiliated with KCB Bank Group since 2013, Dr. Nyaoke was the head of transactional banking and cash management at KCB Bank Group, overseeing the development and implementation of innovative banking solutions that catered to diverse customer needs while managing the bank’s strategic direction and profit and loss oversight for payment and collection initiatives. He also briefly assumed the role of acting director of digital financial services at KCB Bank Group in 2020 and, from 2021 to 2022, served as the head of cash management and payment solutions.

Dr. Nyaoke’s career also includes significant tenures at NCBA Bank, where he pioneered the bank’s first Agency Banking model, and Citigroup, where he provided specialized support for the CitiDirect Electronic Banking platform across multiple international markets.

A PhD holder in strategic management with a specialization in digital innovation, Dr. Nyaoke brings a unique blend of academic rigor and practical expertise to his work. He is certified as a SAFe Scrum Master 6.0 and holds numerous other certifications in project management, business analysis and risk management.

Among many industry-related accomplishments, Dr. Nyaoke has been influential in transformative leadership in digital financial inclusion and governance. Notably, he architected the integration between Kenya’s eCitizen portal and KCB Bank, which revolutionized citizen-government interactions by eliminating bureaucratic barriers and reducing the costs associated with accessing government services for citizens. Additionally, Dr. Nyaoke developed a biometric registration system for social welfare programs, ensuring accountability and traceability of funds. He also led the strategic partnership between KCB and Safaricom that resulted in KCB M-Pesa, significantly increasing financial inclusion across Kenya. Under his leadership, KCB iBank was introduced, offering advanced Internet banking services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) throughout Kenya. This initiative expanded the market reach for Kenyan businesses while ensuring secure global accessibility.

Dr. Nyaoke’s contributions have not only solidified KCB’s position as a leading financial institution but have also set a benchmark for inclusive banking practices across developing markets. Dr. Nyaoke’s innovative approach to digital banking earned him the prestigious Moran of the Burning Spear (MBS) Presidential award from the President of the Republic of Kenya in 2023. This award recognized his exceptional contributions to digital government services, which successfully automated over 16,500 services across government ministries, departments, and agencies. In 2024, his work earned international recognition when he won the Best Payment Platform in the Middle East & Africa from The Digital Banker’s Digital Innovation Awards.
