NEW YORK, NY, February 28, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — Francis Novak, DPsa, has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Novak is a psychoanalyst who joined The Institute for Expressive Analysis (IEA), a New York State license-qualifying program that offers training in psychoanalysis, as a faculty member in 2023. He has also been a private practice psychoanalyst since 2010. Playing the clarinet professionally since 2003, Dr. Novak gained experience as the assistant director and conductor of the Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps between 2015 and 2017 and as an orchestra director for the Turtle Bay Music School from 2016 to 2020. He credits much of his continued success to music and art. Dr. Novak has noted that being a musician has helped him broaden his horizons and expand his creative abilities. Eager for the future of his career, he aims to continue teaching professionally, eventually earning a faculty position at the university level, and write and publish in his field.

Civically invested, Dr. Novak has been affiliated with the SafeHouse Center, where he previously worked as a children’s advocate as part of its domestic violence project from 2000 to 2003. He has also been active with the Queer Urban Orchestra, Riverside Park Conservancy, Education Through Music, and the New York City Emergency Medical Reserve Corps.

Dr. Novak graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and a Bachelor of Music in clarinet performance in 2003. He received a Master of Social Work from New York University in 2006 and a Doctor of Psychoanalytic Studies from Parkmore Institute in 2023. Dr. Novak also graduated from the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis certificate program in psychoanalytic psychotherapy in 2009 and the program in psychoanalysis in 2015 and credentials as a licensed clinical social worker.
