Mr. Marquis played lead roles in two of the top five largest technology transactions of all time. Previously, he worked as the legal director of commercial law for Oracle and as deputy general counsel for Sun Microsystems. Mr. Marquis began his career in IP and international trade with the firms Cooley LLP and Graham & James.
Before embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Marquis earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a focus on centrally-managed economies from the University of California, Berkeley in 1987. Subsequently, he completed a JD in International Law from American University’s Washington College of Law, an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Outside of his work, Mr. Marquis has been affiliated with several worldwide business councils, including the California Commonwealth Club, the World Affairs Council, the German-American Business Council, and the U.S.-China Business Council.
