He also works closely with product development teams to innovate new products and spends significant time in the field with territory managers and sales representatives to address customer needs.
Mr. Spang’s journey with Double E began in 2016 when he joined as a sales manager following the acquisition of Appleton Manufacturing, where he was a partner. His leadership skills were quickly recognized, leading to his promotion to director of sales in 2019. During his tenure at Appleton, he played a pivotal role in growing the business from $6 million to $15 million, a testament to his ability to drive change and accountability throughout the sales organization.
Prior to his roles at Double E, Mr. Spang served as a sales manager and partner at Appleton Manufacturing from 2008 to 2016, where he discovered his passion for coaching and helping others succeed. Before that, he worked as an inside sales representative at KI for the preceding two years and as a sales representative at J. J. Keller & Associates Inc. for four years. His career began as a Western region sales representative at Associate Engineering Corp from 2000 to 2002.
Academically, Mr. Spang holds an associate degree in business administration from Cardinal Stritch University, completed in 2007. Beyond his education, he attributes his success to consistency, accountability and hard work—principles that have guided him throughout his career. By focusing on performing small tasks repetitively and doing them well, Mr. Spang has built a solid foundation for his professional achievements. He takes great pride in and enjoys nurturing others to succeed.
Mr. Spang’s professional journey is complemented by his membership in the CCTI since 2008. Outside his professional life, he is actively involved in civic organizations. For the majority of his adult life, he has coached youth soccer for a variety of clubs, sharing his passion for sports with young athletes. Additionally, he served as a board member for Ridgeway Country Club from 2015 to 2018.
In his personal life, Mr. Spang enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons and playing golf and woodworking as hobbies. He also previously coached his children’s soccer team. Looking ahead in his career, he aims to lead his sales team in building on their success to grow the company’s business by 50% over the next five years.
