Dr. Al Hammoshi is currently working as a V-CISO and has served as the cybersecurity program director at CYDEO in Tysons, Virginia since 2022. Her journey at CYDEO began as a cybersecurity engineer in 2022 before advancing to her current position. Concurrently, she has been an adjunct professor of cloud security at the George Mason University Costello School of Business since 2020 and an adjunct professor of cybersecurity at Montgomery Community College since 2021.

Earlier in her career, from 2016 to 2022, Dr. Al Hammoshi was a cybersecurity program chairperson and associate professor at the Fairfax University of America while also serving as a cybersecurity technical project senior consultant at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., from 2017 to 2020. Her prior roles in the United States include a tenure as a business analyst at Pantheon in Arlington, Virginia, from 2015 to 2016.

Prior to immigrating to the United States in 2015, Dr. Al Hammoshi served as a principal investigator and GRC senior technical project manager for The Omani Research Council in Muscat, Oman, from 2009 to 2015. She held several positions at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Ibri, Oman, including as an IT department director, the head of the scientific research department and an assistant professor. Previously, she gained valuable expertise as an instructor and computer center IT manager at the University of Mosul in Iraq from 1995 to 2008, where she also served as a manager of the Cisco Networking Academy in the Iraq Regional Branch from 2006 to 2009.

Dr. Al Hammoshi’s academic achievements have significantly contributed to her professional success. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy in computer systems networking and telecommunications from the University of Mosul in 2005, having previously obtained a Master of Science in computer science in 2000 and a Bachelor of Computer Science in 1992. In pursuit of further education, she received a Master of Business Administration from the American College of Commerce and Technology in 2016. Moreover, Dr. Al Hammoshi was certified in CSAP and CySA+ by CompTIA in 2024 and holds a certification as a Certified Chief Information Security Officer, a Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching certification, and a premier certificate in Cybersecurity: Managing Risk in the Information Age from Harvard University. Additionally, she completed coursework in leadership principles via the Harvard Business School Online.

In accounting for her success, Dr. Al Hammoshi credits her steadfast perseverance and unwavering determination. To wit, she has faced significant challenges with qualities of dedication, persistence, consistency and self-belief. Her journey from Iraq to Oman, and eventually relocation to the United States in 2015, underscores her extraordinary resolve and dedication.

Outside her professional life, Dr. Al Hammoshi enjoys exercising and cooking.
