Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With 20 years of experience in her field, Dr. Kweh has made significant strides in the biotechnology sector, primarily focusing on the innovative field of exosome manufacturing. As the co-founder and chief executive officer of KweHealth LLC since 2019, she stands at the forefront of developing cutting-edge analytical solutions for exosome therapeutics. Their primary goal as a company is to manufacture and characterize exosome products that can help those with neurodegenerative disorders and various other diseases.
Before founding her own company, Dr. Kweh served as the director of clinical translation at Neobiosis LLC in Gainesville, Florida, from 2021 to 2023. She also held several roles at the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami, where she was a postdoctoral research scholar and associate. Her career journey began at the University of Florida, where she served in several roles including biological scientist, graduate research assistant, and clinical trial coordinator.
Dr. Kweh’s academic foundation is robust, with a PhD in immunology and molecular biology and a Master of Science degree in immunology and microbiology from the University of Florida. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Miami, is certified as a Medical Science Liaison and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA.
Her passion for paying it forward initially began as she mentored aspiring science students in academia and has led her to form the “Women Entrepreneurs in Biotech” (WEB) internship program. This program is an initiative designed to open doors for aspiring female entrepreneurs by offering them hands-on experiences in a dynamic biotech environment.
Dr. Kweh’s dedication extends beyond her professional endeavors to include education and contributions to scientific literature. She has authored many peer-reviewed papers, including one published in the Journal of Wound Management and Research in 2023. The paper discusses how exosome technologies, similar to those developed by KweHealth, can mitigate the need for skin grafts, and enhance repair after third-degree burn injury.
Proud to have spread awareness regarding the efficacy of exosome products, Dr. Kweh attributes her professional success to a supportive team of like-minded individuals who strive to make a difference in the medical community and society as a whole. Looking toward the future, she aspires to help establish regulatory standards for exosome therapeutics, and to complete the necessary clinical trials for exosome products that would make them more accessible for widespread use.
