Micah Bonner Celebrated for Dedication to the U.S. Coast Guard

Between 2001 and 2023, Mr. Bonner dedicated himself to the U.S. Coast Guard in various capacities, including Coast Guard recruiter, vessel inspector, Marine Safety Detachment Peoria supervisor, prevention assignment officer, waterways management division chief, military officer, and auxiliary director. Throughout his career, Mr. Bonner honed his leadership skills as assistant chief of inspections, oversaw officer assignments for pay grades 01 to 05, and managed 5,000 assignments.

An expert in his field, Mr. Bonner holds a Bachelor of Science in health and physical education from Stillman College. Subsequently, he expanded his professional knowledge by completing a leadership certificate at LSU and a master’s degree in performance improvement, human performance technology, and organizational development from the University of Arkansas, Grantham.

Mr. Bonner’s contributions extend beyond his professional and educational endeavors. He has made a significant impact in his community as a volunteer youth sports coach with Ruskin Christian School’s Basketball Program and End Zone Sports’ football and soccer programs.

Given his outstanding achievements, Mr. Bonner was named Coast Guard Elite Male Athlete of the Year in 2005 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame for his military basketball contributions.
