Rev. Ambakisye is a dedicated pastor at St. Simon Baptist Church, where he has served for over three years. With nearly 20 years in his profession, he is an expert in the gospel of Jesus and pastoral care ministries. His role at St. Simon Baptist Church involves teaching biblical revelation, engaging in pastoral care ministries and providing leadership in all areas of church life.

Beginning his journey in the church as a custodian, Rev. Ambakisye’s musical talents soon caught the attention of the congregation. He began to step in as a musician and expressed a keen interest in becoming more involved with the church. Over the years, he dedicated himself to both the music ministry and maintaining the church, which led to him being invited to serve as a deacon. Rev. Ambakisye embraced this role through ordination in 2005, marking the start of his deeper involvement in church leadership.

Rev. Ambakisye’s unwavering commitment and outstanding leadership qualities led to additional responsibilities, including serving as the minister of music, youth minister and assistant treasurer. His dedication to the church culminated in his licensure to preach in 2005 and his official ordination as a reverend in 2009. Throughout this period, Rev. Ambakisye also faithfully served as the pastor’s assistant, further solidifying his role as a key figure in the church community.

Before his current position at St. Simon Baptist Church, Rev. Ambakisye had an extensive career in the U.S. Navy, serving for 21 years. During his military service, he worked as a quartermaster responsible for navigating the ship. Notably, Rev. Ambakisye was also formerly active as a professional musician from the age of 16, playing every instrument in the band, including the trumpet, trombone, baritone and cornet.

In addition to his professional background, Rev. Ambakisye holds an Associate of Science degree in computer electronics and engineering. Alongside his formal education, he attributes much of his success to his willingness to learn from trial and error and the invaluable experience he gained during his military service.

Outside his career, Rev. Ambakisye enjoys spending time with his family and leading Bible study. He emphasizes the importance of engaging all undertakings with sincerity and conviction, keeping God first. His approach to life and ministry continues to inspire those around him, reflecting his devotion to his faith and community.
