Ms. Spencer’s dedication to mentorship and leadership was recognized in 2016 when she received the prestigious 29 Who Shine Award from the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education.

Ms. Spencer has dedicated her career to fostering student success and community engagement, currently serving as a senior administrative assistant and staff mentor at Roxbury Community College. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing student enrollment intake and managing all related processes and procedures. She supervises work-study students, interns and the front desk clerk while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the office by collaborating closely with other departments. Her duties also include processing requisitions and encumbrances and contacting outside vendors for office supplies.

In addition to this primary role, Ms. Spencer has been an adjunct instructor at Roxbury Community College since 2014 and also serves in the administration of the State of Massachusetts. Before embarking on her professional career, she completed a Master of Business Administration at Curry College in 2013 and a Bachelor of Arts from the same institution in 2003. She began her academic journey at Roxbury Community College.

Ms. Spencer’s dedication to mentorship and leadership was recognized in 2016 when she received the prestigious 29 Who Shine Award from the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education. She was also honored by Governor Charlie Baker for her outstanding contributions to higher education and community service and has earned several certificates of appreciation for her leadership and mentorship roles. Further accolades include a service award for her years of dedicated service at Roxbury Community College, a citation award from Andrew Campbell for her mentorship work at her church and a certificate of appreciation from Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

In her personal life, Ms. Spencer enjoys traveling and is passionate about making a positive contribution to society through active involvement in civic organizations, such as the Big Sister Association of Boston. Over the next several years, she aims to focus on areas where she can successfully encourage people to help their communities. She believes that giving back not only demonstrates generosity but also has a lasting impact on the lives of others.
