The new solution targets impurities that, if left untreated, can trigger chemical reactions leading to the formation of water, sulfuric acid, and nitric acid. These byproducts can cause severe corrosion in CCS infrastructure. By eliminating these impurities, the collaboration aims to relax stringent specifications for CCS networks, significantly reducing costs, simplifying operations, and protecting infrastructure from corrosion.

Carbon capture and storage is widely recognized as a critical technology in the fight against climate change, enabling industries to capture CO2 emissions before they enter the atmosphere and store them safely underground.
