Inspired by his grandfather, a physician, Dr. Yeung was driven to positively impact others from a young age. After earning a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, he received an MD from Queens University. Subsequently, he expanded his knowledge by completing residencies in Family Practice through St. John’s Mercy Medical Center, and obstetrics and gynecology at Georgetown University Medical Center. Similarly, Dr. Yeung pursued the Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at the University of Louisville and a mini-fellowship in CO2 laser excision of endometriosis through the Center for Endometriosis Care in Atlanta, GA.
During the early stages of his career, Dr. Yeung gained valuable expertise in clinical and educational settings. In addition to teaching at Saint Louis University and Duke University, he was a hospital staff member at several institutions, including Duke University, and the University of Louisville. In the ensuing years, he developed his specialty in the laparoscopic laser excision of early and late-stage endometriosis, founding Centers for Endometriosis at Duke University and Saint Louis University. Throughout his career, Dr. Yeung has remained dedicated to continued education, earning certifications in biomedical research, obstetrics, gynecology, and more.
Drawing on his vast experience and extensive educational resume, Dr. Yeung exceled as a professor and medical director for Saint Louis University. Stirred by his wife’s battle with infertility and endometriosis, he has established the RESTORE Center for Endometriosis, which provides compassionate care for those battling early and late-stage endometriosis with a root cause approach. In addition to addressing endometriosis, Dr. Yeung provides pain and symptom management services, infertility solutions, and endometriosis education.
Alongside his clinical and educational endeavors, Dr. Yeung has obtained funding for endometriosis research, focusing unique proteins in patients with endometriosis and has published manuscripts on natural procreative technologies, cosmetic preferences in gynecologic procedures, atypical manifestations of endometriosis, the potential for eradication of endometriosis with optimal excision, and adhesion prevention strategies for improving pregnancy outcomes after cystectomy for endometriomas. His expansive research has contributed to peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed articles in multiple publications, including the the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology, The Linacre Quarterly, and Frontiers providing valuable insights to the medical community. Likewise, Dr. Yeung has been asked to speak at conferences nationwide and international, sharing his knowledge and expertise.
Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Dr. Yeung aligns himself with several industry organizations, including the American Association of Gynecologic Laparascopists, the American Academy of Fertility Care Professionals, the World Endometriosis Research Foundation, and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Consistently honored as one of the Best Doctors in America, Dr. Yeung has been recognized many times throughout his career, earning teaching awards for his dedication to education and the Jay Cooper Endowed Best Paper on Minimally Invasive Gynecology.
