Mr. Sachs’ distinguished career includes representing some of the largest condominium communities in South Florida, such as Century Village and Kings Point. He achieved significant outcomes for these communities by securing funds for roof repairs, correcting construction defects, and renegotiating long-term contracts to remove consumer price index costs. Additionally, he served on the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar from 1992 to 1996, and the judicial nominating committee for Palm Beach County from 1988 to 1992 where he was selected as chairman. His representation of large communities enabled him to have a substantial impact on local and state elections.
Before founding his own firm in 1979, Mr. Sachs worked at a law firm in Miami Beach, Florida. His career milestones include being board certified in condominium and planned development law and serving on the Federal Judicial Nominating Committee for the Southern District of Florida from 2005 to 2008. He also held leadership roles such as past president of the South Palm Beach County Bar Association.
Mr. Sachs’ academic achievements laid a strong foundation for his successful career. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from Queens College of the City University of New York in 1969 and a Juris Doctor cum laude from Fordham University School of Law in New York, New York, in 1973. His legal bar admissions include the Supreme Court of the United States in 2018, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit in 1988, New York in 1980, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida in 1974. He attributes his success to strong family support, excellent mentors, a solid work ethic and a combination of opportunities and good luck.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Sachs has been actively involved in civic organizations. He served as a gubernatorial appointee on the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council from 2010 to 2020 and was past president of the Florida Independent Living Council. He also contributed as a past board member of the American Red Cross Greater Palm Beach Area Chapter and held leadership roles, including President, with the Jewish Association for Residential Care (JARC).
Mr. Sachs’ contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including the South Florida Business & Wealth Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021 and multiple listings as a Florida Super Lawyer from 2007 to 2024. He has maintained an AV rating with Martindale-Hubbell for 40 years and received The Florida Bar’s 50-Year Lawyer Award.
An accomplished author, Mr. Sachs has written columns such as “Unit Owner Rights” for The Florida Bar Manual on Condominiums across various editions from 1982 to 2018, contributes to the local Jewish Journal as a columnist and has written numerous articles on condominium and HOA law.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Sachs enjoys walking and strength training, and is an avid basketball enthusiast. Looking ahead, he plans to continue working, traveling and spending more time with his family.
