Mr. Doroquez is the retired editor of the University Accounting Manual and Fiscal Policy Development Coordinator at the University of California, where he spent nearly 30 years. Born in the Philippines, he was interested in business, finance and development from an early age. He studied accounting, receiving a bachelor’s degree in 1962 and continued his education in the United States, where he received a Masters of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from Golden Gate University in 1967.
While at the University of California, Mr. Doroquez contributed to and oversaw numerous projects with an eye toward compliance and developing a strong institutional foundation for the future. Highlights of his time at the school included his work clarifying IRS code changes for administrators and other departments. Throughout his career, Mr. Doroquez remained committed to professional growth and professional development and he completed a certificate in creative writing from Oxford University.
In recognition of his dedication and professional excellence, Mr. Doroquez has received a University of California Management Incentive Award and is a three-time recipient of the University of California Outstanding Performance Award. He credits much of his success to his consistent hard work and willingness to go the extra mile for his team.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Doroquez was active in the National Association of Accountants and the Western Association of College and University Business Officers, while always striving to find time to write essays, poetry and short stories and to contribute articles for newspapers and magazines. In retirement, he donates to charities and non-profit initiatives.
