Hailing from 20 years of professional experience across her chosen fields, Ms. Tomb has distinguished herself as the director of training programs and strategic business development at the University of Dayton School of Law. In her role at the law school, she oversees the government contracting and procurement master’s degree program while supervising 12 faculty members and a direct staff that works on daily tasks concerning the admissions program. She also works to generate revenue for the school by facilitating agreements and contracts with outside partners.

Known for her professional longevity, Ms. Tomb began her career as the small business owner of a natural health store called Body & Soul for seven years before pivoting to legal services. She served as a technology transfer specialist for the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Office of Research and Technology Applications for three years before graduating from law school and ascending to attorney advisor from 2020 to 2023. Along with her current position at the University of Dayton School of Law, she also serves as a court-appointed public defender for the Miami County Juvenile Court in her spare time.

Before venturing onto her vocational path, Ms. Tomb first pursued an education at Wittenberg University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in biology in 2016 before earning a Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton School of Law in 2019. Additionally, she has obtained several certifications, including the Women Lead Certificate Program from the University of Dayton’s Center for Leadership. She is a 2022 Leadership Ohio fellow and graduate of Ohio’s most prestigious leadership development program, all achievements that have cemented her standing as a pillar of the community.

Known for her contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Ms. Tomb has served on the board of directors for many non-profit organizations.

As a commitment to her professional field, Ms. Tomb has been active with various industry-related organizations. She holds memberships as a chair of the Dayton Bar Association’s Leadership Development Program, a trustee on the Dayton Bar Foundation Board, the Certified Grievance Committee of the Ohio State Bar Association. She is the immediate past president of the Federal Bar Association’s Dayton chapter. These associations augment her lengthy past commitments to such organizations as the Air Force Research Laboratory and the United States Department of Defense.

With a storied list of achievements in her field and civic contributions, Ms. Tomb has been recognized with several awards. In 2017, she received the Commander’s Excellence Award for the 711th Human Performance Wing from the Air Force Research Laboratory, the Rising Star Honor from the Dayton Bar Association in 2022, the Air Force Exemplary Civilian Service Award in 2023, and the Dayton Bar Foundation named her a fellow in 2024.

Though she counts many proud accomplishments in the legal services and education fields, one of Ms. Tomb’s proudest contributions was co-developing a training platform between the University of Dayton School of Law and the Air Force Research Laboratory. The endeavor required a substantial effort to gain the necessary support to establish an online training program, and she accomplished all of this while working as an attorney.

With an eye toward the future, Ms. Tomb aims to expand her leadership potential with various bar associations while also giving back to her community and enhancing the University of Dayton School of Law’s reputation on the national scale. Aiming to grow her roles on non-profit boards and participate in more volunteer work, she desires to make an impact by serving her community while serving on various non-profit boards.
