Numerous domestic and foreign pastors have made gospel sharing arrangements with the Shincheonji Church of Jesus.
GWACHEON, KOREA, January 23, 2023 /24-7press release/ — The Shincheonji Church of Jesus continued to grow exponentially in the past year, producing 106,186 graduates of the Mission Center. In contrast to the atmosphere of the general church community, which has suffered from a decline in membership following the COVID-19 pandemic, membership within Shincheonji has increased significantly. The Church’s dramatic membership growth is attracting attention from all walks of life.
The increase in membership was primarily driven by online seminars and the operation of an online mission center. The online seminars of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus published on YouTube last year (including eight seminars by Chairman Lee Man-hee) were broadcast worldwide in 24 languages and attracted a total cumulative view of about 20.98 million. The response to these online videos resulted in the signing of 177 MOUs in Korea and 3,760 abroad (as of the end of December 2022). In addition, numerous domestic and foreign pastors have made gospel sharing agreements with the Shincheonji Church of Jesus.
In addition, the “Online Mission Center,” which began operating in earnest after the spread of COVID-19, has increased access to the words of Shincheonji Church of Jesus. After the online system transition in 2020, the online mission center opened a total of 3,347 domestic and overseas classes (1,715 domestic and 1,632 overseas) during the year.
This resulted in the “largest number of graduates ever produced” at over 100,000. The scope is believed to have increased due to the shift from the pre-COVID in-person approach to a non-person-to-person system that is dissolving the constraints of time and space. In fact, 21 Shincheonji churches were newly established overseas in 18 countries around the world last year, another example of this phenomenal growth.
The Shincheonji Church of Jesus also held a large-scale blood drive last year for the second time. As a result, 18,819 people participated in the first round and 73,807 people in the second round of this blood donation. This campaign, carried out in early 2022, generated the largest number of blood donations by a single institution in the shortest amount of time, setting a Guinness World Record. Shincheonji has been certified by the Korea Record Institute (KRI) for the most blood donations. And in July last year, We Are One, a volunteer group of 90,000 Korean and overseas youth, was launched. The young people of this organization announced their plan to solve national challenges and global crises.
The Shincheonji Church of Jesus is targeting 100,000 graduates again by 2023. The theme for this year is “The Year of Achieving Our Purpose in One Mind,” and all members of the Church have committed to evangelize with more heart. To this end, ministers such as branch leaders, class teachers, mission center instructors, and evangelists take the lead in evangelism activities.
The online Mission Center 2023 will continue to operate as before, but some offline Mission Centers will also be opened and operated. The goal is to continue to improve accessibility so that everyone can visit and hear the Word of God directly. At the same time, she wants to focus on the education of the saints. The Shincheonji Church of Jesus said: “We do a Bible test for all members every month and from the beginning of this year we plan to introduce a ‘Discourse on the Book of Revelation’ with the aim of improving the skills of all church members to ensure that everyone is endowed with the ability to teach the Bible.”
Finally, in 2023, Shincheonji aims to bring Bible education opportunities to more people by expanding its scope, e.g. B. Increased the number of Bible seminars in Korea and abroad and increased the signing of memoranda of understanding with pastors. In addition, there are plans to expand activities related to social security contributions. In particular, We Are One, the youth volunteer group, announced that it is preparing to expand its activities this year into various areas such as environment, peace and education.
