SocialBox.Biz Community Interest Company invites public organizations like Local Council School, College or University to participate in #EarthDay2023 and the grant initiative for refugees and homeless people.
As #EarthDay2023 approaches on April 22, 2023, SocialBox.Biz invites organizations to join their initiative by donating outdated but usable technology. While many companies choose to recycle their old laptops and other devices, this is not a sustainable solution. However, donating to SocialBox.Biz is Netzero for pollution.
Reusing and donating obsolete but working technology to SocialBox.Biz is better for the environment and society than recycling.
“Netzero” for pollution means that in the case of the SocialBox.Biz initiative, there is no longer any need for remote manufacturing and transport, and no burning of energy recycling items that are still usable. This premise – that reuse and donation is ecologically superior to recycling – has been recognized by local governments. For example, West Oxfordshire District Council has taken on the task of donating IT equipment. The SocialBox.Biz initiative is a socially and environmentally responsible cause that takes donations of used but outdated technology, wipes it clean, loads it with open source software, and puts it in the hands of those who need it – namely the homeless and refugees.
SocialBoz.Biz is committed to collecting at least 5,000 qualifying articles from public entities ahead of Earth Day, which falls on April 22, 2023.
In addition, the 2023-2024 Refugee and Homeless Scholarship is currently accepting the same type of donations from educational institutions. This is an opportunity for organizations to fund scholarships for people from refugee and homeless backgrounds while promoting their school, college or university in the media.
Organizations that choose to donate will be featured in a dedicated press release, and the institution that raises the most funds will receive an additional press release focused on their contributions.
