In this role, she was responsible for creating and executing the five-year strategic plans for the university, as well as building relationships, setting metrics and ensuring compliance. Prior to this role, she served as Associate Vice President of Marketing, Communications, External Relations, Strategic Partnerships and Presidential Initiatives for the University of the Pacific from 2015 to 2018. dr McAfee began her career initially as a manager at McMaster-Carr from 1986 to 1996.
dr McAfee continued her tenure as an associate professor at Elmhurst University and DePaul University from 1996-1997. She then gained expertise as a full-time business economist at St. Charles Community College from 1998 to 2001. From 2000 to 2001 he served as director of development at Campbell Montessori School. Between 2003 and 2015, Dr. McAfee enjoyed a productive career serving in a variety of roles at the University of Phoenix, including campus college chairman and director of academic affairs, regional director of academic affairs, campus director, and finally campus vice president.
Before starting her professional career, Dr. McAfee trained at Highland Community College in Illinois, where she earned an Associate of Arts degree in 1983, followed by a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in transportation logistics from Iowa State University of Science and Technology in 1985. She continued her academic endeavors at DePaul University and earned a Master of Business Administration in 1991. Afterwards, Dr. McAfee completed her academic endeavors at Drexel University, earning a Doctor of Education in Higher Education and Administration in 2015.
As a commitment to her field, Dr. McAfee licensed as an American Leadership Forum Fellow in 2016 by the Mountain Valley Chapter of the American Leadership Forum. She has also been active in several industry-related organizations including Cayman Islands Technology Innovation Ecosystem Steering Committee and the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. dr McAfee is also committed to citizen advocacy, contributing to the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services, Habitat for Humanity, the American Heart Association, and the various local charities in her community.
dr McAfee is highly respected for their contributions in this area and has received multiple awards including the City Year Moccasin Award, Rising Star Campus Leadership Award, Honor Roll Campus Award and Distinguished Community Partner Award to name a few. Among her professional achievements, she is most proud of the expertise she has gained through her leadership roles and her ability to consistently contribute to transformative change in her field.
