Mr. Meyers is a distinguished expert in information security and risk management, currently serving as the director of information security at Microsoft since 2021. His leadership has been instrumental in transforming Microsoft’s approach to cybersecurity, notably through the creation of a company-wide business model for cybersecurity in 2015. Prior to his current position, Mr. Meyers was a principal product manager for information security, risk management and portfolio management at Amazon Web Services in 2021. He also served as a senior product manager for information security at the company from 2019 to 2021. Before joining Amazon, he held a first tenure at Microsoft from 2008 to 2019 as a director of information technology operations, principal manager of security operations and group manager for information technology operations. He began his career at Starbucks Coffee Company and Maximus, where he held various managerial, IT, security and quality assurance positions.
Mr. Meyers’s academic background includes a Master of Jurisprudence in cybersecurity law from Texas A&M University School of Law in 2022 and a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Texas A&M University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Mays Business School at Texas A&M University.
Throughout his career, Mr. Meyers has twice received the Compass Award for Leadership from Microsoft and was also granted the Growth Hacker Recognition at Amazon. Overall, he attributes his success to his persistence. Despite coming from humble beginnings, he is dedicated to and focused on achieving his goals.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Meyers holds several certifications that underscore his expertise. These include the Certified Information Systems Security Professional from ISC2, a master certificate in global supply chain management from Michigan State University, an ITIL Service Operation certification from ITIL Managers, a Project Management Professional certification and a Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
Beyond his professional life, Mr. Meyers is actively involved in civic-minded organizations. He volunteers with Teen Feed and provides event support for the BikeMS Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation and the Seattle Children’s Hospital’s Crush Kids Cancer Guild. His commitment to community service reflects his belief in forming partnerships and inspiring others to make positive changes.
In his personal life, Mr. Meyers enjoys an active lifestyle that includes CrossFit and participating in Spartan Races.
