Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace at the Hebrew University. She also served on the Boards of Trustees of the National Committee on American Foreign Policy and the National Institute of Social Sciences.

dr Gitelson has published scholarly articles on four continents. More recently, she is the author of Giving is Not Just for the Very Rich: A How-to Guide for Giving and Philanthropy. The book serves as an effective guide to charitable giving, featuring numerous examples from prominent donors, social entrepreneurs, and nonprofit professionals.

dr Gitelson is a prolific promoter of quality education, effective government, and selfless charity, and a notable supporter of the Dr. Susan Aurelia Gitelson Award for “Human Values ​​in International Affairs” at Columbia SIPA, the Columbia SIPA Gitelson Policy Forum, the Truman (originally Gitelson) Peace Prize at the Truman Institute at the Hebrew University, and many more.
