Ms. Takeuchi currently serves as the chief human resources officer at UCLA Health, a position she has held since 2015. With a career spanning over three decades in human resources, she has become an expert in the overall organizational strategy of positioning people appropriately within the industry. Before her tenure at UCLA Health, Ms. Takeuchi was the chief human resources officer at UCI Health from 2013 to 2015 and the director of HR client services in 2012.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Takeuchi served as assistant vice president of human resources and human resources business partner at Capital Group from 2008 to 2012. Before this, she held positions at Capital Group as the assistant vice president of human resources and senior HR manager from 2001 to 2008. Additionally, Ms. Takeuchi spearheaded executive talent initiatives at Southern California Edison, working as a manager of executive development and project manager from 2000 to 2001 and as a human resources client manager from 1996 to 2000. Ms. Takeuchi began her career with Southern California Edison in 1983 and various human resources positions.

Ms. Takeuchi has a solid academic background, including an MBA from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona and a Bachelor of Science in business from California State University in Fullerton. She has also obtained several certifications, including a Senior Certified Professional certification from the Society for Human Resource Management in 2015, a Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from the HR Certification Institute in 1997, and a Certified Compensation Professional certification from WorldAtWork Inc. in 1991.

Throughout her career, Ms. Takeuchi has been an active member of various industry-related organizations, such as HR Peer 150, the Society of Human Resources Professionals, and WorldAtWork Inc. Additionally, she serves as the Steering Committee Chair for the Vizient CHRO Network. Outside of her professional engagements, Ms. Takeuchi also participates in civic-minded initiatives, including Cupid’s Undie Run to support a cure for neurofibromatosis.

One of Ms. Takeuchi’s most notable achievements came after joining UCLA Health. She played a pivotal role in transforming the organization into an employer of choice — a vision that had not been realized until her tenure began. Starting in 2016, a year after Ms. Takeuchi joined UCLA Health, the organization received its first award recognizing this status. Since then, it has garnered 33 different recognition awards for being an employer of choice under her leadership.

Ms. Takeuchi herself has also received numerous prestigious awards. In 2024, she was recognized by Becker’s Review as one of the Top CHROs and Chief People Officers to Know and by OnCon as Top 10 HR Professionals of the Year. Her HR team was honored as the Top 10 HR Team of the Year by OnCon in the previous year, while she earned the title of HR Professional of the Year from the same organization in 2023. In 2021, Ms. Takeuchi was celebrated as an HR Superstar by HRO Today and awarded the esteemed CHRO of the Year. In 2020, she was named among the 100 Trailblazing Women at UCLA Health and acknowledged as the HR Peer of the Year by Peer 150.

Outside of her career, Ms. Takeuchi enjoys boating, water skiing, fishing, and spending time with her family. She is married with two daughters who have followed in her footsteps into careers related to human resources and healthcare. The family also includes a beloved Corgi dog. Looking ahead, Ms. Takeuchi hopes to retire within the next decade, planning to spend more time pursuing her personal interests and enjoying life with her family.
