NORTH WALES, PA, March 24, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ — Tanis J. Marquette, CSP, ISSP-SEP, SMCP, has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As a strategic leader with years of expertise in sustainability management and strategic planning, Ms. Marquette has made significant contributions to the field. Her role as the director of sustainability advisory services for TRC has seen her develop impactful programs across the health, safety, environment and sustainability fields. Her work has not only improved the safety and sustainability practices for her clients but has also set a benchmark for the industry. Previously, she was the sustainability leader for Hexion and PQ Corporation between 1997 and 2021, where she implemented innovative health, safety and sustainability strategies. At Hexion, Ms. Marquette was recognized three times for her novel approach to stakeholder engagement. During the early stages of her career, Ms. Marquette worked for Marquette Safety Management, where she developed pioneering workplace violence programs for municipal governments in British Columbia.
Before establishing herself professionally, Ms. Marquette earned a diploma in occupational health and safety from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 1994 and a certificate of comprehensive industrial hygiene from Harvard University in 2002. Subsequently, she became a certified safety professional through BCSP and a certified sustainability professional through the International Society of Sustainability Professionals and the Sustainability Management Association. Likewise, Ms. Marquette received various sustainability, strategy and leadership certificates through the University of Cambridge, Earth Academy, and Wharton Online.
Driven by a passion for her field, Ms. Marquette is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Safety Professionals, the International Society of Sustainability Professionals and the Sustainability Management Association. Her commitment to professional development is further demonstrated through her contributions to the BPA Worldwide’s Sustainability Committee, the Air Force JROTC Program and the American Society of Safety Engineers in various board positions.
Ms. Marquette’s career is studded with accolades, including a Distinguished Service Award from the Louisville Chapter of the ASSE, two Safety Professional of the Year Awards from the American Society of Safety Professionals, three awards from the Environmental Leader and the Transformational Leadership Award from the John Maxwell Team. Her most significant source of pride, however, is her ability to innovate and create, which has led to success in multiple careers.
Her co-authored book “Connecting the Dots: Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability” will be released by Wiley Publishing on March 25, 2025. The book offers insight into how safety and sustainability intertwine for success, much like her career.
Though hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, Ms. Marquette credits her success to networking opportunities, innovation, creativity, curiosity, and leadership. Looking ahead, she intends to continue sharing her story with others.
