SAULSBURY, TN, December 17, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — Wanda Marie Woodward, Ph.D., has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Hailing from more than two decades of service to the field of psychology and mental health, Dr. Woodward has distinguished herself as an academic author since 2004 and a licensed professional counselor of her own private practice, Maker Therapy, since 2016. She is licensed as clinical supervisor to assist college graduates in obtaining licensure as a licensed professional counselor in Tennessee. Her expertise is client spiritual growth, emergence, and transcendence, gender psychology, Attachment theory, and Jungian theory, as well as clients working with issues related to marital and couple issues, tantric sex, life transitions, grief and loss, and trauma. Dr. Woodward incorporates knowledge of the psychological, social, biological, and neurological elements of mental health and well-being into her work to help clients move towards wholeness and healing.
In addition to her primary vocation, Dr. Woodward is an accomplished author and has published two books, The Anatomy of the Soul: An Authentic Psychology and The Human Soul: An Ontological Exegesis of Transcendence, in which she discusses her hypothetical model of the Transcendent Psyche (or Soul) incorporating her knowledge of the contrasexual aspects of the psyche, anima and animus, or the feminine and masculine domains in the human psyche, and of Eastern and Western psychology, philosophy, and religion. She draws on this model in working with clients.
Dr. Woodward’s performance in the field was born of her academic journey. She earned a graduate degree in counseling from Villanova University as well as a Ph.D. in psychology from Saybrook University, providing her with the education and skills needed to become a licensed professional counselor in Tennessee. Her doctoral dissertation was “A Heuristic Study of the Experience of Falling in Love” with a secondary emphasis on anima-animus archetypes.
Known for her contribution and commitments to her vocation, Dr. Woodward is a regular donator to the Philemon Foundation, an organization co-founded by the distinguished scholar, professor, and translator, Sonu Shamdasani, Ph.D. The Philemon Foundation is a non-profit organization of scholars, editors, and translators working to compile the previously unpublished writings from manuscripts, seminars, and communications delivered by Carl Gustav Jung, and share them with the public. Dr. Woodward has been a member of the American Psychological Association, a professional institute that represents psychologists across the United States.
Though she counts many individual successes throughout her career, Dr. Woodward’s most satisfying achievement is being able to use her knowledge and empathy to help individuals cope with stressors and seeking psychological equilibrium and well-being. Understanding that human experiences are fleeting, she finds joy in guiding others towards this realization, both directly with clients and through her published works.
Looking forward to the coming years, Dr. Woodward is near completing her third book with the goal of editing and publishing by the end of 2025. Always considering how she can contribute more to her field, she has set her sights on releasing a fourth book and other books in the long-term future. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, meditating, listening to music, playing pickleball, and taking walks to enjoy the beauty of nature.
