WIMBLEDON – Ons Jabeur or Marketa Vondrousova become Grand Slam champions for the first time when they compete Women’s Wimbledon Final.
They go into Saturday’s title fight with a combined record of 3-0 in major finals.
The Jabeur seeded at number 6, a 28-year-old from Tunisiawas runner-up at the All England Club and US Open last season.
She is the only Arab or North African woman to compete in a Grand Slam singles final.
Unseeded Vondrousova, a 24-year-old Czech, lost in the 2019 French Open final as a teenager.
She is the first unseeded finalist at Wimbledon since Billie Jean King made it that far in 1963.
