ORLANDO, Fla. – Alex Beck has helped her team build to this point: win a state championship.
The senior midfielder and forward leads the Timber Creek girls’ soccer team in both goals and assists. Beck is one of eight seniors on this year’s squad.
The Timber Creek Wolves have been a force over the last few seasons, and there’s a clear sense the program has been building to this point. The goal is to win a state championship, and it’s certainly attainable after capturing the Class 7A District 4 title yesterday.
Beck will play a major role in the pursuit of a state title. The future East Tennessee State Buccaneer said a turning point this season came in a 4-3 come-from-behind win over Winter Park to win the Metro Championship earlier this month.
“We were down 2-0 at the half,” Beck reflected. “With a great talk at halftime with the team and making sure that we were focused. And coming back from the break was a little hard, but we ended up turning it around and being able to get a win out of it. That was something I felt really proud of our team about because it just showed how much we are capable of and how strong we are as a team and that we are a threat, and people need to take us seriously.”
