WINDERMERE, Fla. – Brandon Bass, Jr., might only be a sophomore at Windermere Prep, but he’s already a rising star.

The six-foot-five guard has already eclipsed the 1,000 career points plateau heading into the 2024 state playoffs. The team recently won the Class 3A regional final.

Brandon’s dad played more than a decade in the NBA, so serious game runs in his genes.

“My dad helps me a lot, but I feel like it’s my own path,” Bass, Jr., told News 6. “Some advice that he gives me is to always be confident and to be myself when I’m playing basketball.”

Bass, Jr., thinks his team has what it takes to go all the way. The team will play in the state semifinals on Feb. 28.

“Just working together and work on the small things and little things,” Bass, Jr., said. “And playing as a team mostly because we have a lot of talented players on the team. But if we put everybody’s talents together, I feel like we could go far.”
