ORLANDO, Fla. – Darius Washington III has basketball in his blood.
The senior point guard at Edgewater is following in the footsteps of his grandad and dad who both played for the Eagles.
Washington’s hard work has paid off with a scholarship to Kennesaw State.
“I’m excited,” Washington told News 6. “I want to get ready for the next level and try to go from there.”

He wants his final season at Edgewater to be a memorable one, starting with changing his number to 35, the same number his dad wore at Edgewater.
“It was just something that I wanted to continue,” Washington told News 6. “It was something I fell in love with. (My dad) played, I played, my grandad played, so it was something I just fell in love with and wanted to continue (…) I’m happy for (Edgewater); I’m trying to get a state championship this year. Hopefully, we can get it and end off on a good note.”
