WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. – Arguably the strongest high schooler in all of Florida is in Winter Springs.
Kody Taylor, a senior at Winter Springs High School, won a weightlifting state championship in the 183-pound class. It’s been a dream of Taylor’s since he felt like he was too weak as a freshman football player.
Now, Taylor is a powerhouse and obtaining personal bests, like 270 pounds in the snatch lift, 370 pounds in the bench press and 340 pounds in the clean and jerk.
“It was probably the determination that I had,” Taylor told News 6. “There was multiple days right after school, I would be the last one at the weight room, I would be the last one at practice, making sure I just got that extra time in and constantly push myself further and further every day to get where I was at.”
