MIAMI, Fla. – Only four Central Florida high schools remain to play for the 2024 football state championships. All games will be played at Pitbull Stadium at Florida International Stadium in Miami.
Below is a breakdown of which school will play who and when:
Class 2A: Cocoa High School vs. Gadsen County
When: Thursday, Dec. 12, at 12:30 p.m.
The Cocoa Tigers (10-3) are seeking their third straight state championship, winning in 2022 and 2023. Cocoa has made the state final in each of the last four years. The Tigers have outscored opponents 509-137 this season, including five shutouts. Senior wide receiver and Florida State Seminoles commit Jayvan Boggs leads the team with 21 touchdowns and averaging over 150 yards receiving per game.
Class 4A: Jones High School vs. American Heritage
When: Friday, Dec. 13, at 7:30 p.m.
The Jones Fightin’ Tigers (14-0) look to complete the perfect season, the first in school history, with a state title. Jones’ last trip to the championship was in 2019 with a runner-up finish. The Fightin’ Tigers have outscored their opponents 490-151 this season. Senior wide receiver and Florida Gators commit Vernell Brown III had 11 touchdowns this year and leads the team averaging over 100 yards receiving per game.
Class 6A: Osceola High School vs. West Boca Raton
When: Friday, Dec. 13, at 12:30 p.m.
The Osceola Kowboys (12-2) are back in the state championship game for the first time since a runner-up finish in 2019. Osceola is averaging almost 38 points per game in the last four games. Senior running back and UCF commit Taevion Swint leads the team with 27 touchdowns and averaging over 128 yards rushing per game.
Class 7A: Lake Mary High School vs. Venice
When: Saturday, Dec. 14, at 12:30 p.m.
The Lake Mary Rams (12-2) are in the state championship for the first time in school history. En route to the final, Lake Mary defeated four Central Florida teams in DeLand, Spruce Creek, Seminole and Dr. Phillips. Led by junior quarterback and Notre Dame Fighting Irish commit Noah Grubbs, the Rams are averaging 41 points on offense in the last four games.
