ORLANDO, Fla. – Despite a hot start for the UTSA Roadrunners, the NCAA football team’s Troy Trojans clinched the 18-12 victory Friday night at Exploria Stadium.
The Roadrunners were seeking their first-ever Cure Bowl victory, starting off strong with a 2-0 safety. They managed to widen the gap further after UTSA quarterback Frank Harris passed to wide receiver Zakhari Franklin for a 2-yard touchdown, giving UTSA a 9-0 lead.

Roadrunners managed to add three more points before the Trojans hit back, with running back Kimani Vidal grabbing a short touchdown to take the score to 12-7 at halftime.
The Trojans remained on offense in the second half of the game; Troy quarterback Gunnar Watson passed to wide receiver Rajae Johnson for a 12-yard touchdown and gave the Trojans the ultimate 18-12 lead over UTSA.
Friday’s game marked the Trojans’ fifth straight Cure Bowl win.
