After partnering with Leica earlier this year for a limited run of the special-edition Q2 compact cameras, Disney has now been courting Fuji film with an even more exclusive project; 100 Disney themed X100V compact cameras complete with Disney 100th anniversary branded accessories (and Fujifilm 55th anniversary).
You can no longer buy a Fujifilm X100V in 2023 And you’d be even happier (or wilder) to snag one of these Disney versions; Pre-orders for Walk-in at three stores across Hong Kong started on July 13, 2023, with a release date of July 29, 2023.
The Fujifilm Disney Project website reveals that the list price for one of the 100 cameras, each with a unique serial number, is HK$14,999. That price comes in at around $1,918 / £1,465 / AU$2,807 – not a bad deal for either of them best compact cameras Also in 2023, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Hong Kong Community Chest to support their children and youth ministries.
What’s in the box?
Well… a deluxe wooden case itself is part of the package, and inside is the Disney-style X100V, functionally identical to an original model. Only the changed aesthetics is new; The monochromatic Disney Mickey and Friends Collection design across the faux leather finish along with a Disney 100 and a unique serial number are engraved on the camera’s top plate.
Other accessories include a thumb rest, camera strap and leather half case, all with Disney 100 branding. Considering the asking price is similar to a regular X100V, it’s actually a bit of a bargain and the design is fun too. Also new is that a brand other than Leica is launching a limited edition of one of their coveted cameras. I’ve always wanted to fly to Hong Kong. How much are the flights now?
